Fatima Binta Abdu is an accomplished lawyer with over 12 years’ experience, spanning Commercial law, International trade and Maritime law. She was a Legal Adviser to the former Chief Economic Adviser to President Umaru Musa Yar’adua. Prior to that, she was a Legal Officer with the Independent National Electoral Commission of Nigeria (INEC).
She has been the Principal Partner at Firdausi Chambers since 2004, representing high net-worth individuals and corporate organizations, including banks and major oil and gas companies.
Fatima Binta Abdu obtained her undergraduate law degree from the University of Maiduguri in 1991 and was called to the Nigerian bar in 1992 after completing her studies at the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies in Lagos. She has a Masters Degree in Law from the University of Buckingham, the United Kingdom in 2010.
She is the founder of Heeba Foundation, an NGO which provides scholarships to less privileged individuals to further their education and helping orphans, widows, and internally displaced persons affected by the crisis of the Insurgency in North-eastern Nigeria. She is a life member of the Federation of International Female Lawyers (FIDA) and the International Bar Association.
